Fingrid Open data

Fingrid has launched a publicly accessible data portal that provides consolidated information about Finland’s electricity system and electricity markets. Open data refers to digital content and datasets that anyone can freely use and share at no cost. By offering data in an easily accessible and centralized format, the platform enables the development of new services and applications. Providing open data is a cost-effective way to enhance efficiency in the electricity market.

Fingrid’s new site includes a wealth of hourly measured data on the electricity system and markets, much of which has already been publicly available on Fingrid’s main website. This includes real-time information on the state of the electricity system, updated every three minutes.

The service features powerful search tools for browsing and locating datasets. Users can perform filtered searches on individual datasets through a dedicated interface and save the results in formats such as CSV or XML for further processing. Datasets are also available in machine-readable format via an open RESTful API, which facilitates and simplifies the development of data-driven services.

The site is available at: Fingrid Open Data

The service is continuously being developed, and feedback can be sent to: [email protected]
